Who is Jess Cutler?!

I started out as an amateur bike racer in 2009.  I have supported my habit by running my own solo family law practice in Seattle, WA.  I live and train in Seattle with my amazing and supportive husband (and occasional Madison Partner) Niels Thogersen III.

In 2012 I signed my first professional cycling contract with the Primal/MapMyRide Professional Women’s Racing.  After Primal folded at the end of 2012 I was offered and accepted a spot on the Vanderkitten Professional Racing where I stayed for one year during which time I managed a top 10 finish at Pro Time Trial Nationals, and at Cascade Classic Stage Race. In 2014 I raced for FCS Pro Cycling where I notched several top 10 finishes and even the occasional podium all while helping the team garner many wins and podiums throughout the year.  I’ve then moved to Colavita Pro Cycling, one of the oldest women’s programs in the United States!

I retired from professional racing in 2016 and started the Northwest Women’s Cyclocross Project.  It’s a cyclocross development program for junior and U23 women that seeks to offer professional level support to up and coming female racers while removing barriers to entry for all young women interested in cyclocross.

In my spare time I’m a feminist killjoy, lawyer, and socially and politically progressive activist.

  4. I’m glad to see I’m not the only solo supporting a bike addiction! I would love to chat one day. Maybe I’ll see you at the races.
